New Honda City , benchmark of sedan
Honda recently launched its 5th generation of Its city , in 1981 Honda launched its first generation of Honda City , from this city is the benchmark of sedan in the Indian market . Coming to the 5 th generation of the city, it’s price start from 11.5 lakhs to 14.8 lakhs ( ex-showroom) .
In front we get big chrome treatment with all LED headlamps , DRL’s and fog lamps like Honda Accord. Tail lamps gets all LED lights with rear parking sensors and parking camera. Inside the cabin we get dual tone options with wooden effects , in the new city we get Honda’s connected car features with automatic version, you can start the car, turn on the AC, check the fuel levels, find the car, check air pressures, and get to know if your driver has been driving too fast! You can also geo-fence the car. But, its USP is its compatibility with Amazon Echo, also popularly known as Alexa. Sitting at home you can say stuff like Alexa, start the car; Alexa, turn on the car AC .
There’s a sunroof, of course. But it also gets a height-adjustable seat for the driver; a multifunctional steering wheel that also adjusts for rake;cruise control, a colour TFT screen as part of the instrumentation; and an 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system with everything from Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Weblink.It gets a retractable rear windscreen sunshade. It has ambient lighting. It gets LaneWatch courtesy a Camera mounted on the left ORVM. There’s a reversing camera with a normal, wide and top view options. And it gets climate control, voice command.
The All New City is available with three engine/gearbox combinations. There’s a 1.5-litre petrol unit with manual and automatic (CVT) transmissions, and a 1.5-litre diesel with a manual. Honda introduces new engine technology names EARTH DREAMS TECHNOLOGY with new IVTEC motor.
At this price point, it will rival the new Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid and the Volkswagen Vento. It will also face competition from SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Kia seltos and the Renault Duster.
