Mercedes Benz EQC, smooth refined luxury EV

These days many car makers are going to electric because that is the future and we have to accept this, like that and Mercedes Benz think about it and recently launched its first electric car in India named EQC. We have seen many luxury sedan, powerful SUV’s , fast AMG’s and lots of other coupés and convertibles from Mercedes Benz, but this time we get this new EQC luxury EV from this german automaker. This new EQC is built on GLC, it has similar design and also same dimensions. There’s lots of EQ bits and the important one is that electric motor which distinct them easily, the Mercedes Benz EQC is only offers in one variant which is 400 4MATIC. The EQC 400 is powered by two electric motor one for each axle, and together producing 400bhp of power and 760NM of colossal torque. Under its floor pan we get a 80kWH battery pack and single speed gearbox sending the power to all the wheels with the 4MATIC system. This 80kWH battery pulls it lunges ahead like nobody’s business and makes 0 to 100 KMPH in just 5.5 seconds which it weighs around 2.5 tons heavy, thanks to the two motors and that 4MATIC system. To charge this beast Mercedes Benz gives us lots of options like a regular charger which can easily fit in our wall socket can charge the vehicle in 22 hours, but to reduce that timing Mercedes Benz provides us a AC wall box in our house which have a capacity of 7.4KW charged at per hour which can easily charge the vehicle in 9 to 10 hours. In long journeys there will be also provision of DC super fast chargers available in selected dealerships charge the vehicle 0 to 80% in just 90 minutes. Mercedes Benz claimed that, In a full charged it will go 350 to 420 km depending on your driving style and the power consumption, like all electric vehicles EQC also comes with regenerative braking. When you applies brakes this regenerative braking converts the kinetic energy into electrical energy, therefore we also gets paddles to adjust the regenerative efficiency. Length of this suv is 4762 mm, width is 1884 mm and height is 1624 mm. Wheelbase is 2873mm and ground clearance is 142 mm which is bit on lower side, starting from the front we get back grill with big Mercedes Benz logo, there is also a connecting led light and front parking camera on it. To reduce the overall visual bulk rear bumper is finished in black with fake diffuser and four parking sensors on it. Tailgate is powered adjustable and gets 500 litres of boot space which is very good and to increase it you can also split the second row in 60:40 format. Interior of EQC is finished in all black with some blue treatment on door pads and dashboard. The dashboard of EQC is very different from which we seen in lots of Mercedes Benz cars, but the MBUX touchscreen infotainment system continues with this also. The window is large and also gets sun blind for blocks the sun, we got two AC vents with air conditioning controls, magazine holders, centre armrest with reading lights as well. To get airy and fresh feeling inside this cabin Mercedes Benz gives us a electrically adjustable single pane sunroof, which at this extremely high price point we expect a panoramic sunroof but hey it get lots of cool features like 590W 13 speakers burmester surround sound system with amplifier and subwoofer and also with active voice cancellation, 3 zone climate control with a air balance technology, voice control with touch pad for infotainment, wireless charging pad, android auto and apple car play for infotainment system, automatic wipers and automatic headlamps, electric sunroof, cruise controls, electrical adjustable driver and co-driver seats with memory seats function and heated seats function, heat and noise insulating acoustics glass, 4 way lumbar support, massage seat function for front seats, roller sun blind for rear seats, powered tailgate and lots of more features which is loaded in this suv.
